The
employees and management of S.V. Moffett Co., Inc. sincerely thank our
customers for their support. Without your business our business does not
exist. Any company can make one sale to one customer one time. The true
test of a company is to repeatedly be named by our customers as their
vendor of choice. We strive to be the most reliable and fair turf and
irrigation
equipment supplier in business today.
In 1966
Stephen V. Moffett Jr., a territory manager for Worthington Mower
Company purchased the Grass Cutting Equipment Company of Rochester,
New York. The company was re-named and Steve settled his young family
in the Rochester area, moving here from Racine, Wisconsin.
In 1968 property
became available on Thruway Park Drive in West Henrietta.
Steve purchased land and built a small 3,800 square foot building. This
one
small building is the cornerstone of our state of the art facility and
now
covers over 40,000 square feet.
In 1971
Steve purchased a Jacobsen dealership, which was located on Blue
Barn Road in Rexford, New York. We quickly outgrew that property and
relocated to 10 Green Mountain Drive in Cohoes, New York. With the
addition of an 8,000 sq.ft. building in 2002, we now operate with over
20,000
sq.ft. at our Eastern New York facility. Our sales territory has expanded
with
irrigation now calling on accounts in Vermont and Western Massachusetts.
Steve
Moffett III (Buzz) became involved in the family business learning all
aspects from a young age. He and his wife Mary took over the business
from
his father in 1982 and lead us through over 14 years of historic growth,
tripling business and adding our renowned irrigation division. After his
untimely death in 1996, Mary became President of our company and has
continued the family tradition of company growth, strong leadership, and
above all, recognition of our customers and legendary customer service.
We stock
nearly 25,000 line items, which are required to support our diverse
customer base. This multi-million dollar investment is maintained with
assistance of a sophisticated computer system, which provides for high
fill
rates of required products on a timely basis.
Also
a tradition at S.V. Moffett Co., Inc. is supporting the turf industry.
Each
year turf maintenance equipment is provided to Cornell University, SUNY
at
Cobleskill, and SUNY at Delhi for use by future turf managers to gain
hands-
on experience with the same equipment they will use after graduation.
We invite
you to come join the excitement with us. We can all grow together!
